AHS meest genomineerd voor de Emmy's

Om 5u15 in de morgen (!) werden in Amerika de nominaties bekend gemaakt voor de 65ste Emmy Awards. Presentators waren Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) en Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother).

In de categorie tv-series gingen de meeste nominaties naar Game Of Thrones en Breaking Bad, beide ook genomineerd als beste drama serie. De andere genomineerden in die categorie: Downton Abbey, Mad Men, Homeland en House Of Cards kregen respectievelijk 12, 12, 11 en 9 nominaties.
De meeste nominaties gingen echter naar American Horror Story: Asylum die 17 nominaties kreeg. Door een of andere rare kronkel werd AHS niet opgenomen bij de tv-series, maar bij de miniseries en tv-films. In die laatste categorie kreegt Behind The Candelabra, de film van Steve Soderbergh die gescreend werd op het afgelopen Festival van Cannes de meeste nominaties.  De nominaties voor beste comedyseries zijn 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, Girls, Louie, Modern Family en Veep.

Net als andere jaren waren er ook nu weer heel wat mensen ontgoocheld. Dexter, The Walking Dead, New Girl, Community, The Following en Sons Of Anarchy moesten dit jaar met lege handen huiswaarts keren. De grootste ontgoocheling viel wellicht Tatiana Maslany te beurt. Zij werd door verschillende professionals getipt voor een nominatie in de categorie Beste Actrice Drama, voor haar vertolking in Orphan Black.
