Homeland en Community winnen op CTA 2012

Community, koploper met 6 nominaties, werd op de Critics Television Awards 2012 uitgeroepen tot Beste Comedy Serie. Concurrent Modern Family kreeg met Awards voor Ty Burell en Julie Bowen weliswaar één Award meer, maar zag de Award waar het eigenlijk om ging aan zijn neus voorbijgaan. Zooey Deschanel en Amy Poehler mochten de prijs voor Beste Comedy Actrice delen, Louie C.K. kreeg hem als enige voor de serie Louie.
In de categorie drama ging de Award voor Beste Drama Serie naar Homeland. Actrice Clare Danes mocht ook de Award voor Beste Actrice in een Drama Serie huiswaarts nemen. Bryan Cranston en collega Giancarlo Esposito kregen voor hun vertolking in Breaking Bad allebei een Award, Cranston voor Beste Mannelijke Vertolking, Esposito voor Beste Mannelijke Bijrol.
De BBC-serie Sherlock blijft de prijzen binnenhalen. Nu won de serie de Award voor Beste Miniserie, terwijl Benedict Cumberbatch terecht de Award voor Beste Mannelijke Vertolking in een miniserie in ontvangst mocht nemen.
