The People VS OJ krijgt 5 Golden Globe-nominaties

Vandaag om 14h15 onze tijd werden de nominaties voor de 74ste Golden Globes bekend gemaakt door acteurs Anna Kendrick, Laura Dern en Don Cheadle. De prijzen uitgereikt door de Hollywood Foreign Press Association zijn na de Oscars en de Emmy’s de belangrijkste prijzen voor film en televisie.

Bij de tv-series scoorde The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story met 5 nominaties het best voor The Night Manager (4) en ex-aequo met 3 nominaties: Black-ish, The Crown, The Night Of, This Is Us en Westworld.

Voor La La Land was het een fantastisch weekend. Niet alleen won de film 8 Critics’ Choice Awards, ook kreeg hij nog eens 7 nominaties voor de Golden Globes. Daarmee voert de film van Damien Chazelle de lijst van nominaties aan voor Moonlight (6) en Manchester By The Sea (5). 

Net als andere jaren bevestigde de vereniging ook dit jaar hun soms vreemde keuze. Ofwel waren ze stevig aan de drank toen ze Jonah Hill nomineerden voor War Dogs en Ryan Reynolds voor Deadpool, die zelf ook een nominatie kreeg in de categorie 'beste comedy/musical'.

Ontbreken onder meer: regisseurs Martin Scorsese en Denzel Washington, films Silence en Fences, acteurs Matthew McConaughey (Gold) en Tom Hanks (Sully) en de tv-series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, House Of Cards, Silicon Valley en Mr. Robot.
